Tahlia Hughes is a Trainee Accountant at Palfreyman Chartered Accountants and assists in areas of individual taxation requirements and client correspondence.
Tahlia is currently studying a Bachelor of Business and Commerce at the University of Newcastle, and hopes to pursue a career in business management. This is due to her passion for leadership, and her interest in finance.
Outside of work and uni, Tahlia spends a lot of time with her drama, acting and musical theatre performance groups. She is a regular Hunter Drama student at the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre and in Newcastle, having been a part of large-scale productions including Aladdin Jr (Cessnock) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Newcastle).
Tahlia compliments her performances by holding an assistant teaching position at Hunter Drama. This allows her to combine her love for leadership with her passion for performance. Tahlia's dedication to volunteering also shows through from her many years spent on the committee for Mount View Leos (Junior Lions Club).
Some of Tahlia's highlights include being awarded the Mount View High School Citizenship Award, and being recognised for her outstanding efforts as a senior leader and Vice-Captain. These are the most important achievements to Tahlia, as they show her passion for helping others, improving the school and giving to not-for-profit organisations. Tahlia was also a well regarded nominee in the 2019 Cessnock Customer Service Awards.
